The topic this week was: On the Line
Jack sat in the chair, not daring to move. If he moved, they might remember he was there and just do away with him. The leather straps he wore around his wrists and ankles bit into his skin, but still he fought the urge to move. Shallow breaths. Hold that swallow. Don't...even...blink.The clock clicked! Oh god! They were looking at him again. Was this it? Was it all over? A phone rang and everybody snapped around to face it. Unable to hear over the protesting from outside, Jack could only pray that it was the Governor on the line.
